What Is ColumbiaLofts.net?
Virtual Realty is one of several companies currently studying the prospect of developing loft-style condominiums in downtown Columbia. We have developed ColumbiaLofts.net as a starting point for information about planned residential buildings.

The Loft Lowdown
At this time, specific locations and architectural renderings for downtown Columbia lofts are not available, but plans are afoot. The second floor space above many downtown businesses has been re-conditioned for residential rental use. Examples include the old Central Dairy Building (Downtown Appliance) on Broadway and several Broadway storefronts one block west, owned and renovated by John Ott.

Slightly north of downtown Columbia, the Fay Street Lofts offer 8 rental spaces in a renovated mule barn.  Three older apartment houses on 10th street (1 block south of Harpo’s) are destined for demolition and replacement by an 8 story multi-use building.   Initially the developers have indicated the residential units there will be for rent as well.

Formerly, this web site offered a survey for web surfers to complete and guide us in the development of future lofts.   Though the survey has now been removed, this site will be updated periodically with links to news stories about planned downtown residential options, so bookmark us and check back.   Or contact us for questions or comments.
